5 Different Types Of Sectional Sofa Configurations For Your Home

Blog

If you have a big living room, it is natural to want to add a sectional to your space. A sectional sofa is versatile and allows for different setups and configurations in your space. That is why you need to understand the different sectional sofa configurations so you can choose the best one for your home.

#1: L-Shaped

One of the most traditional sectional configurations is an L-shaped sectional. It looks like two sofas are put together to create an L shape with an L-shaped sofa, creating a 90-degree angle. There are two cushions on each side with this shape and a cushion shared in the corner. This creates an open space in the middle, which creates a defined space to hang out.

#2: U-Shaped

Another type of sectional is a U-shaped sectional. A U-shaped sectional is on the bigger side of sectionals. A U-shaped sectional has three sides with an opening in the middle. It works in an extremely large space and defines the space. Many U-shaped sectionals don't have any armrests on them, creating an open feeling even though the sectional is relatively large. This is great if you want seating that faces one another. It is excellent for big families.

#3: Chaise

A chaise sectional is shaped more like a regular sectional. With a chaise sectional, the seat on one side, on either the left or the right, is extended outward, allowing someone to sit and put up their feet. A chaise sectional works well in a smaller space and will enable you to have a place to put your feet up and have some traditional seating. With a chaise sectional, you only sit have three spots like a conventional sofa.

#4: Curved

A curved sectional usually has a modular setup, with none of the pieces having armrests. You can connect the different elements in whatever shape you want. A curved sectional often has at least three parts, although it can have more. As it gently bends around, a curved sectional can create an intimate feeling in your living space.

#5: Sleeper

Another sectional option is a sleeper. With a sleeper, the couch has a 90-degree angle like with an L-shaped sectional. You have two spots on each side of the couch, with a shared middle spot. Then, at the end of one of the sides, instead of the couch ending, it goes out straight, like with a chaise sectional. It is a queen-sized bed that is attached to your couch.

If you have a large living room space, a sectional configuration can be the perfect arrangement for your room. There are various configurations of sectional couches, so carefully consider the configuration you want.
